COVID-19 - Fabcon Precast

Fabcon is committed to creating and sustaining a safe work environment

Were doing all we can to keep our people on the job & in the pink.

At Fabcon Precast there is no higher priority than the safety of our people, and in these unprecedented times we have resorted to unprecedented measures. We’re all doing what we can to keep ourselves and those we come in contact with safe. Mask up, back up and stay informed.

Here’s what we’re doing.

Masks

All employees will be required to wear masks while at work.

Employees are required to have a mask with them and available at all times in the event the environment changes or someone comes within 6 feet. Fabcon will have a variety of masks available (N-95, R-95, surgical masks, etc.); employees may provide their own mask if approved by a Safety Manager before use.  Some masks, like N-95, will be restricted to use for certain tasks. Each plant will articulate what those tasks/jobs are.

When employees can confirm self-isolation and can confidently maintain a distance of 6 feet or more from others, they are not required to wear a mask. Examples of this include: single operator in a crane cab or other vehicle, when an employee is in an office alone or working on a task in the yard not around others.

This policy applies to all plant, field and office environments. Please note: N-95, R-95 and surgical masks CANNOT be used as a substitute for half-face and full-face respirators.

Temperature Check Monitoring

Temperature monitors are being installed to verify everyone’s temperature before they can enter a facility and begin their work day.

If the employee’s temperature is at or over 100.4ºF, the employee must be sent home immediately. The employee shall not be allowed to return to work until they are cleared by a doctor or are fever-free for at least 72 hours.

HIPAA Note: Employee temperatures and other medical information will be kept confidential and only shared on a need-to-know basis as necessary to protect against the threat of exposure to COVID-19.

Surfaces & Cleaning

Fabcon has instituted an aggressive and comprehensive cleaning initiative for high-touch areas.

Examples of commonly touched surfaces are handrails, doorknobs, tools, machinery, time clock, vending machines, computers, etc. We will continue to implement our increased cleaning protocol until further notice. The use of time clocks may be suspended at some locations. Employees can help protect themselves and others by wiping down shared surface like tools and vehicle cabs with disinfectant wipes.

As always, Fabcon recommends exercising common sense and avoiding contact when possible by wearing gloves, using a sleeve and washing hands frequently to reduce your risk of exposure.

Gloves

Gloves will be required for all plant operations work tasks.

The type of glove will be determined by the task. This does not apply to office environments; however, some tasks in the office—i.e., cleaning common areas—will require gloves. Other tasks we recommend the use of gloves but do not require it. These tasks will be reviewed, and determination made by each office team leader.

People that use shared computers must wear gloves (i.e. medical blue gloves) and we ask that you clean the shared computer frequently.

If you have questions about our COVID plan, contact a specific plant manager.
